Are You Looking Forward or Backward?

All my hopes, wishes, and dreams will be completely fulfilled in Heaven. There will be no regrets.

Unless you are living under a rock or have your head stuck in the sand, you know that the world seems to have gone crazy and turned up-side-down. So many are yearning for the world to get back to “normal”–whatever that is. I don’t think we’ll ever return to life the way it was in 2019. Many are looking back. As for me, I’m looking forward.

Some people have places they want to visit and things to accomplish before time runs out. They don’t want the rapture to happen now. I have dreams and items not checked off of my bucket list. But if I had to choose between going to Heaven or fulfilling dreams and checking off my bucket list, I would choose Heaven without hesitation. All my hopes, wishes, and dreams will be completely fulfilled in Heaven. There will be no regrets.

I believe we are living in the last days. I believe that Jesus will soon come to take His church (His bride) home. The joy of being reunited with loved ones and to actually see Jesus face-to-face cannot be equaled by anything on this earth.

15 With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.” 1When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. 17 As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”26 But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19: 15-17, 26 NIV)

How sad for Lot’s wife! She didn’t look forward; she looked backward. She wanted the life she left behind.

I would venture to say that sin is just as bad today as it was in Sodom and Gomorrah. The world today is ripe for punishment. How the heart of God must be grieving for our world.

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9 NIV)

God is giving the world as much time as possible to come to salvation. We have no idea when the rapture will come, but it’s clear that it’s soon with all that is taking place in the world. If you die without Jesus (and you have no promise of tomorrow), it will be too late. If the rapture comes and you don’t have Jesus, you will have to go through the 7 year Tribulation. Today is the day to have your name placed in the Lamb’s Book of Life. You have two choices for eternity: Hell (the Lake of Fire) or Heaven. Time will run out for you to make your choice. I know where I will go. Do you?

J.D. Farag shared a story recently. Someone told Pastor J.D. that if the rapture happened and he wasn’t saved then he could get a second chance during the Tribulation. Pastor J.D. said, “If you aren’t willing to live for Jesus now, what makes you think that you would die for Jesus during the Tribulation?”

Read the book of Revelation. The judgments and wrath to be poured out during the Tribulation will be horrible.

32 Remember Lot’s wife! 33 Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it. (Luke 17: 32-33 NIV)

Are you ready for Heaven? Or are you wanting to cling to life here on earth? I have news for you. It will never be 2019 again. I believe things will get progressively worse and worse until the rapture. After the rapture, all hell will break loose because Satan will have free rein.

28 When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. (Luke 21:28 NIV)

I’m looking forward and UP!! Come quickly Lord Jesus! I’m ready to go.
